Bones Coffee Company believes that coffee isn’t just a drink that wakes you up. Rather, that it should be an end to end tongue-twisting flavor experience.

Below we check them out via our Bones coffee review. Keep reading to see if this brand resonates with you.

Who Are Bones Coffee Company?

Bones Coffee Company sources unroasted coffee from around the world. They then roast and package each small batch of beans in the states, ready to be enjoyed.

PROS (+)

  • Great if you enjoy flavored brews
  • Large selection
  • Small batch roasted

CONS (-)

  • Not the best for regular beans

And rightfully so, because Bones Coffee has something for everyone. No, seriously, they do. From over 40 different coffees to choose from.

Regardless if you need ground coffee or whole bean, you’ll find it here.

Now, this isn’t going to be a specialty grade cup of Joe. But, as long as that’s clear and you’re okay with it, then all good.

If you don’t mind that, chances are Bones coffee company has something that’ll pique your interest. Interestingly, the flavored beans are keto-friendly, because they use oils instead of sugars to flavor the coffee. You can trust each cup to be both a flavor explosion and guilt-free. Winner!

Bones Coffee Review

Like I mentioned, Bones Coffee Company sells 40 different coffees. So, where should you start looking? How do you even know where to start?

Flavored Coffee

Bones coffee also retail regular beans and ground coffee, but their flavored coffee beans are their bread and butter. Or should I say, French Toast? That’s right; they sell French Toast coffee.

If that had you drooling, put your tongue back in your mouth as It doesn’t stop there. Their assortment includes some of the most distinctive coffee flavors I’ve come across.

Starting with Wunderbones, which is a salted pretzel-flavored. Other interesting flavors include Maple Bacon, Vanilla Caramel known as ‘Jamaican me crazy’, and a fruity cereal flavor called Electric Unicorn.

Like I said, each cup of Bones Coffee is an experience. And it’s not just because it’s so different from anything else out there. Having tasted salted pretzel coffee, its too sweet for me, but if you enjoy flavored brews that taste like a desert, you should investigate further via a sample (more on that shortly).

You can see why coffee purists would be hesitant to try the brand at first. But, outside of these crazy flavors, their whole bean coffee is available without any additions too:

Single Origins

Many coffee fans frown upon flavored brews. One of the most common arguments is that it’s a cop out, a cover-up for poor quality coffee beans. While this may be true, that doesn’t mean everyone agrees. Which is fine too. Each to their own and all that.

But if you think Bones doesn’t use decent quality coffee, you’re mistaken. Bones Coffee Company offers some of the best coffee beans from around the globe. Bones isn’t exactly the most popular for this selection, but its single origins do provide a complex and clear set of flavors that taste like they should.

Single Serve Cups

Some of us just want the most efficient means to get caffeine into our bloodstream. The single-serve full of pre-ground coffee answers that call.

Thankfully, if this is something you enjoy, they retail various coffee pods for single-serve brewers. And yes, you can still enjoy those crazy flavors like strawberry cheesecake or butterscotch!

While this is the most unpredictable method for brewing because you have no control over the extraction, it’s a play for convenience over all else – which can be useful at times.

Decaf

As long as it has a decent flavor, I would drink coffee even without caffeine. But some people have such a high sensitivity to it that they have no choice but to buy decaf coffee.

Here, Bones Coffee is a great choice as there’s quite some variety of flavors flowing into their decaf range.

Bones’ Flavored Favorites

Alright, so this is the center stage when it comes to this coffee company.

If you want to judge them, it’s probably best to do so by trying their flavored coffee beans – after all, it’s what they’re known for. Check out the Bones’ sample pack above for a variety of possibilities or enjoy a popular flavor from below and become a believer!

Highland Grog

There’s a brew that has over a thousand five-star reviews in this pack too. Hands down a favorite for many:

The one is butterscotch and caramel-flavored, with a hint of spiced rum. Rich, full of candy-like goodness that’s so hard to get enough of.

The Highland Grog is sweet and addicting, and the caramel flavor is just mouthwatering. If you’re a caramel fan, you could drink Highland Grog coffee forever. Trust me.

Next, in. this quirky but tasty selection of flavored beans is Bones’ Strawberry Cheesecake:

Who doesn’t love strawberry cheesecake? The acidity of fresh strawberry and that sweet and creamy cheese flavor.

There’s breakfast coffee, and then there’s dessert coffee. Not many desserts beat strawberry cheesecake. But cheesecake that wakes you up? It’s a dream that’s rich, full of sweetness that’s come true.

Sinn-O-Bunn AKA Cinnamon

Another bestseller is the cinnamon brew, said as it reads:

Sinn-O-Bun

Sweet cinnamon rolls in a cup. Opening a bag of beans never smelt so good!

I LOVE cinnamon buns. They remind me of early mornings spent at the airport. They’re also why I make sure to do push-ups as soon as I get to my hotel.

Jokes aside, I do love cinnamon.

The Sinn-O-Bunn coffee gives you sweet cinnamon flavor in each sip. It has everything you love in a cinnamon roll, and Sinn-O-Bunn doesn’t even give you stomach rolls. Based on the taste, it’s incredible how this coffee has no sugar added.

To satisfy your regular cinnamon roll cravings, Sinn-O-Bunn is the coffee for you.

Smores

S’ morey time is another favorite.

It’s infused with chocolate and toasted marshmallow flavor. S’ morey time also has a hint of graham cracker that rounds out its taste profile perfectly.

Its roast is medium, so S’ morey time is also quite creamy. It’s super delectable, and it’s one of Bones’ best-selling coffees. If you want your home coffee to give you the comfort of being near a campfire, S’ morey time is a great option.

Peanut Butter & Jelly

We all love PB&J right?!

One of the most unique flavors Bones coffee produces is their PB&J medium roast variety.

My mom used to make the best PB&J sandwiches when I was a kid, so I might be biased on this. But this will take you back to all sunny afternoons spent dipping my PB&J in milk.

If you haven’t tried that, you’re missing out.

Back to the coffee. This PB&J coffee from Bones has a distinct nuttiness and a sweet, fruit jelly flavor. If you’ve ever wanted a PB&J in a cup without the calories, this is for you.

Maple Bacon

One of my all-time favorite breakfasts is bacon with a side of eggs and coffee. A day that starts off like that is a guaranteed good day. Bones’ Maple Bacon is all those things together and added some sweetness to create Maple bacon. It’s sweet and smoky while being full bodied. Yummy!

Nonetheless, Maple bacon is certainly a little risqué, but it’s exactly what they’re is all about. It’s daring, and it works if you’re inclined to be less snobbish about your coffee experience.

The secret behind great-tasting coffee, is high-quality beans.

The reason Bones Coffee pulls off their flavors so well is that they don’t add flavor to mask the quality of their beans. Instead, they complement their beans’ natural flavors with (artificial) flavoring. It’s both a science and an art.

World Tour Single Origin

The World Tour sample pack includes beans around the world for you to try. First up Kenya:

These coffee beans are grown in Mt. Kenya/Ruiru at altitudes of up to 5,000 feet. These conditions are ideal for producing high-quality arabica coffee.

The flavor of these coffee beans is proof of its five-star rating. It’s a full-bodied medium roast, with acidic black currant, plum, and lime notes.

These beans grow in Tarrazu, Costa Rica. Like Kenya, these coffee beans grow at altitudes of up to 5,000 feet. This coffee has a flavor profile similar to that of bread pudding. With a caramelized sugar body with hints of almond and raisin. It’s naturally sweet, and it’s obvious why these coffee beans don’t need artificial flavoring.

The other single origins in the World Tour Single Origin sample pack are Sumatra, Colombia, and Guatemala beans. Those are some delicious beans too, and you can learn more by clicking here.

Delivery

If you’ve made up your mind that you want Bones Coffee all the time, you’re not alone. That’s why Bones Coffee lets you save 10% to “Join the Club”. “The Club” is a coffee subscription program. It allows you to choose how much coffee you want to buy and how often you want to get it.

Bones Coffee Company’s order form also tells you how many cups per week you’re ordering. So regardless of how often you have your coffee delivered, you can adequately plan your consumption. Order all salted caramel if it takes your fancy…No one’s going to judge.

Bones allows weekly deliveries, and deliveries every 2, 3, or 4 weeks. It’s definitely not the cheapest option out there. But if you value fresh flavored beans, it’s more than worth your investment.

Customer Service

Some Bones Coffee drinkers have had shipping issues, but the company’s customer service team is always quick to fix any errors. They are very accommodating and will likely try to help you sort anything out.

The Final Verdict

Bones Coffee Company is a brand that’s definitely marketing unique flavors that’ll hit the spot for many of you.

Personally, I usually prefer a black cup of Joe over coffee with artificial additives. But don’t get me wrong; I understand that flavored coffee beans are a little more of an acquired taste, and that’s okay too.

No judgment here…I mean, sometimes I do just want to eat some caramel, so maybe I should double up with a salted caramel brew too…Something to consider.
